It took a few years but Brennen drew a Minnesota bear tag this year and was excited to kick off the fall chasing bears. Baiting started in mid-August and it didn’t take long to get some good bears on camera. Opening weekend arrived and brought warm and wet conditions, real wet. Over 6″ of rain fell on camp and the bear activity shut down almost completely. The 4 day weekend was slow and no bear sightings from the tree. With cooler weather and dry conditions, Brennen headed back up to the shack mid-week with plans of a 5 day hunt. On the 7th sit of the season, this great boar made his last mistake. A well placed arrow and Brennen had his hands on his 1st black bear only 50 yards from the tree.
