Whitetail season is underway, and we kicked it off in style over the weekend in North Dakota. With the season opening at noon on Friday, we spent the morning running around to check all the trail cameras that we had put out a few weeks prior. After going through all the pictures, we were excited to get in the tree for the afternoon. Aaron and Dylan were up to bat first for the crew. With several good bucks on camera and good weather for the opener, we were optimistic someone would get a chance the first sit of the year. As the evening rolled on, several deer got on their feet and began feeding before dark. With about 30 minutes of light left, a beautiful velvet buck made his way across the bean field and gave Aaron the opportunity he was hoping for. This is Aaron’s first ever velvet buck, and one hell of a way to kick off the season for us!
