To say that the past couple months have been an ass-kicker would be a complete understatement. We have been back and forth between North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska getting absolutely schooled by deer this fall. I was excited to get after it in Iowa once November rolled around. The weather conditions on the morning of the 13th were absolutely perfect and the deer were on the move. After a close call around 9am, we were beginning to wonder if our luck would ever change. Shortly after 11:00 I looked up and seen the “6×6” a couple hundred yards away coming straight at us! He never skipped a beat and brought the trail right under the tree. This was a hunt that I will never forget, less than 2 weeks after the passing of my father. This buck is for you Dad, and I know you were in the tree with us!
